Tricycle
Rachel Kempf examines the boundaries of friendship and love in this essay. She used only relevant details to paint a picture of her relationship with Christian and Eric. The scene between her and Clint was sufficiently awkward compared to the scenes with the three of them. I like her use of the number 3, like the threesome conversation and when Eric calls them a "tricycle." Overall, I thought this piece had a good voice, but it did remind me of my high school blog at times.
Some questions:
1. How much is too much symbolism (like the number 3 in this case)? How do you know when enough is enough?
2. Is there a good method for choosing which scenes to keep and which to get rid of in an essay?
3. Did Christian and Eric change her completely? In what ways?
